DI at Wilkes 2013-14 and 2014-15
DI is Destination Imagination:
Creativity, Teamwork, and Problem Solving
Monday Afternoons 12:50-2:30 PM Starts: September 8, 2014 Ends: April 6, 2015 Participants: Wilkes Students in grades 1-4 Location: Wilkes Commons Sponsorship This program is hosted at Wilkes Elementary School. It is sponsored by Bainbridge Independent and staffed by parent volunteers. Participation Maximum enrollment will be 24 students. DI Teams In September and October, students and parent volunteers will learn about Destination Imagination, the creative process, Instant Challenges, and the different Team Challenges: Technical, Scientific, Fine Art, Improvisation, Structural, Rising Stars. Students will work in flexible groups during September and October. Team formation will happen in November. Each team will have four to six members and at least one parent volunteer acting as the Team Manager. Each team will select a Team Challenge, and team members will work together to creatively solve their chosen challenge. Teams will participate in the Instant Challenge Workshop in Silverdale on Saturday, January 31, 2015, 12:30 PM-4:00 PM. Each team will provide two parent volunteers to serve as appraisers for this fun event. Teams will present their Team Challenge solution at the Regional Tournament in Silverdale on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Winning teams will advance to the State Tournament in Wenatchee on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Please use the form at right to register. Space is limited to 24 students. |
